Tizaz (the book of Herald) 1 — Te'ezaz

Te'ezaz, the Statutes, holds seventy-one canons and is the work’s large middle voice of command. Much of it reflects the same world as books of the Apostolic Constitutions: teaching on clergy and laity, offerings, festivals, treatment of the poor, and the moral boundaries of a baptized people. Tradition hears it as Clementine statute—orders the apostles are said to have laid on the churches.

Meaning: If Ser'ata Seyon sketches the house, Te'ezaz fills the rooms with lasting commands. The Ethiopian church reads these statutes as durable apostolic will, so worship and ethics do not drift with each generation’s mood.
